Sarah Cyr - Fortner Gas

Fortner gas is a family-owned Full Service propane company serving customers in the Western Kentucky and parts of West Tennessee areas. They not only offer propane services to their customers, but also sell grills from their showroom.

The customer's existing PHP website needed an update to a more robust content management system that they can in self edit without the need to learn code. Along with the WordPress conversion the customer's needs included a new theme, plugins and other UI updates for a fresh new look. This WordPress site was built with a customized child theme and stylized widgets with CSS along with minimal plugins for stability.

The theme contains additional white space between content and larger images than the former site design. Mostly cool and neutral colors are incorporated into the brand palette in order for the stronger red color to call further attention. Clean sans-serif fonts were applied for practicality and readability; Helvetica for strong headers and Roboto for the body text.

The testimonials page features a form plugin and customization according to theme and brand colors. Fortner's customers can add their own testimonial, which must be approved by the administrator before publicizing on the site. The form was adjusted with full-width buttons and input fields for better usability on mobile devices.

The challenge for creating the Contact Page is to dynamically display the various types of information on the page. This was achieved by adding subtle nuances of color to the Office Hours table, splitting up the content within columns and adding an external View Locations link. A feedback form plugin was added while keeping brand consistency from other forms such as the testimonial form.
